Magick Occult
Is Hermeticism, alchemy and magic of high influenced by Catholicism, or vice versa?
I'm Catholic and in last 5 years have been most captivated by the mystery schools. Thoughts I see in each underlying philosophy that complement Or perhaps read it by my deep interest in Catholicism and occult themes. I know that the most recent (last 200 years most likely) sealed orders had a solid foundation of Christianity (Catholicism in particular) the Judeo-Christian symbolism. One of the things I realized from the beginning is the Catholic mass includes all the elements of ceremonial magic and alchemy to the invocation of Christ and transubstantiation (transmutation) and the achievement of henosis.
A bit of both really. A lot of modern things are likely invented as a means extend the theory. Original Rosicrucians were probably the last of the Hermetic school record intact and left little of themselves. But the Catholic ritual is heavily influenced by the occult.
