Outline History

A tattoo can symbolize a lot of different ideas, ranging from a loved one, life changing vacation, the colossal achievement of dreams and aspirations and any otherwise. For these reasons, tattoos are increasingly common in society.

The tattoos have been popular with indigenous groups from pre-history, in some parts dating back more than ten thousand years (Japan). These are examples of tattoos often try to offer some protection in battle or in the hereafter. These also served as a human passage and formal identification with a particular group or tribe. Later in the history of tattoos came to the attention Western world, across the sea, which adorn their bodies with designs to protect them at sea and talk about his travels around the world. It is this context that many tattoos are contemporary.

Tattoos, of course, are historically associated "tribal tattoos. These consist of thick black lines creating interlocking shapes and designs reminiscent of those seen in the tribal warriors in many parts of Africa and Polynesia. Benefits include tattoos that are easy for the first timer to the design and shape that flows naturally lends itself to be successful first real tattoo such as shoulders and lower back. However, these drawings have been rehashed so many times that the number of tattoo aficionados think people have been stripped of all real connections to tribal groups.

Some aboriginal groups had read tribal tattoos tribal people not as a form of identity theft as these tattoos are used to describe someone who is and provide a familiar story. The other large group of historically related tattoos are those with roots like the swallows nautical star.

The stars are a popular choice for first tattoo because they may be very small and usually little more than a sketch. "Most conventional stars" tattoo Water is the star, a five-point star with each point of division and half filled with black. The sailors get these to ensure a safe journey to sea and to ensure a safe return. The reason behind it is in its infancy, sailors relied heavily on the stars (especially the North Star) for navigation.

As mentioned above, the bird is another popular tattoo design. The Ancient Mariner again inspired tattoos. At sea, a swallow was often the first sign that land was near. Furthermore, it is said that a swallow is always their way back to ensure the safe return.

Ironically Nautical inspired is tattoos began as signs of masculinity and risk, but today is much more common to see a woman with a tattoo of a star or a bird man.
